Kumulate was named a winner of the TV Technology Best of Show Award 2020. The special edition of the program, created this year in absence of the NAB Show, honours and helps promote outstanding new, recently introduced and pending products and services.

Kumulate is the latest evolution in intelligent storage, workflow orchestration and lifecycle management for video assets. Scalable from a single server to multi-site enterprise system, it is a modular platform that optimizes the storage, transformation and processing of assets across multi-tier, hybrid cloud storage ecosystems.

Kumulate optimizes storage of assets by automatically moving content to the most cost-effective storage layer based on its age and usage. The system presents all siloed storage systems to construct a true hybrid environment managed via a single interface. Kumulate generates and stores structure and unstructure metadata to help users locate content more easily, while the Federated Search function allows users to locate and retrieve assets from any linked Kumulate system, cloud or on-prem, and across geographically distinct sites. The system enables partial file re-store from any storage layer, including cloud tiers, and stores segment markers from major editing systems as part of the asset metadata, re-importing them with the media when it is restored to local storage. Kumulate’s accelerated migration workflows provide rapid asset transfer between storage layers, such as from LTO tape to public cloud.

Two modules slated for release in the next quarter were due to be unveiled at NAB2020 add functionality to each end of the media supply chain: Gateway is a content acquisition portal that provides delivery, compliance checking and auto-approve/reject functionality, and Gallery is a e-shop that gives Kumulate users a shop window and e-store for their B2B and B2C content.

Winners receive an award for display and will be featured in TV Technology, the industry source for equipment buyers in the broadcast, cable, production, corporate, and new media markets. Kumulate will be featured in the Best of Show Awards Program Guide, to be distributed in digital edition form to more than 95,000 readers of Radio World, TV Technology, Digital Video, Video Edge, Government Video, Pro Sound News, Sound & Video Contractor, Broadcasting & Cable, Next TV, and TVB Europe in coming weeks.
