The SAvI media transport solution leverages the Avid Unity TransferManager Dynamically Extensible Transfer (DET) application programming inter face. With SAvI, editors trigger transfers of Avid media files, including master clips, and individual or consolidated sequences from their desktop, directly from within the Avid editing environment. MassStore protects those files and provides the critical database and tracking capability so that media is searchable and recoverable at any time.

Utilizing the Avid Unity TransferManager application, SAvI also seamlessly transfers media files back into Avid Unity. Finding material is just as easy.

All material in Avid format is easily identified and restored. With SAvI and MassStore, archived material doesn’t just take up space – it is an ever -present asset that can be tapped on demand for later projects.

All material remains in its native format; there is no transcoding and the material is unchanged during the transfer, regardless of storage destination. As a result, material can be quickly and efficiently brought back to the editing environment on demand, drastically reducing time currently spent loading material.

Editors simply select the clips they need and have them loaded to Avid Unity within minutes. Now there is no need to waste hours converting archive material to an editable format. Coupled with a facility’s scheduling system, SAvI and MassStore enable managers to develop a strategic plan for managing their Avid resources. SAvI maximizes the availability of Avid Unity storage, eliminat ing the need to manually balance workload and online Unity storage.
