Eliminate Dubs
Tapeless Transfers of Content
INTO Final Cut Studio
Using the “Import XML from MassStore Platform” command transferring content into the Final Cut Studio production environment has never been easier. No tapes, no dubs, no ingesting content. M-connect and MassStore automatically gather and move content to and from ingest servers, tape libraries, cache, and edit stations.
Tapeless Transfer of Content
OUT of Final Cut Studio
Using the “Export XML to MassStore Platform” command send projects and their related media files to directly MassStore. Use the “Export Quicktime Movie” command to send flattened projects to MassStore where they can be moved throughout your broadcast facility. MassTrans-It’s intelligent transcoding feature will ensure Final Cut Studio material is converted to the format required by the files destination(s) as described in the workflow.
Low Cost Storage
Part of the MassStore product family M-Connect extends the power of Xserve RAID by providing direct seamless access from within the Final Cut Studio environment to unlimited, low-cost storage for nearline and archival purposes. M-Connect allows for flexibility in archiving entire projects, including raw video, sequences, and all other FCP media file. The MassStore central database provides an active record of the location of all assets in real-time. The system tracks content on any online storage device and on all media storage shelves. A standard web-accessible UI provides advanced searching of all related metadata and low-res proxies (WM9) of content through one simple interface. Browse MassStore’s web-accessible UI on FireFox of Internet Explorer.
Export and Restore:
Export and Restore a sequence or an entire project and MassStore will archive all related source media files. This will allow editors to clear a project from FCP to make room for a rush. Then restore and pick up where they left off. Preserve space, save time, and never re-ingest content again!
Sharing Content:
Share content easily between edit stations. With the use of MassStore storage and its flexibility to archive an entire project, raw video, sequences, or any other FCP media file one editor can easily pick up where another editor left off at a completely different workstation without ever going to tape.
Media Preparation and Selects
Editor’s time is a valuable commodity. M-Connect allows editors to save edit time when media preparation is completed by producers on MassBrowse II. Once content is prepared, the digital EDL created in MassBrowse II can be sent directly to the Final Cut Studio editor along with the media source files. This enables the entire offline media selection process to be completed before arriving on an edit station. Segments created in MassBrowse II can also be used for partial file restoration from the archive. Save time when working with a 4 hour golf game, when you only need a 20sec shot to be sent to the editor, you don’t have to transfer the entire file.
