Who we are, what we stand for

For almost a decade, Masstech has been the leading pioneer of media asset management (MAM) solutions for the media and entertainment industry. We innovate cost-effective products that transform workflow processes and dynamically boost productivity for major broadcasters, international television networks, news channels, cable, and production houses. Masstech leads the market in transcoding of HD content, with speeds three to four times faster than its competitors. In keeping pace with the challenges of today’s evolving ecosystem, we watch, analyze and adapt to our customers’ needs. Masstech’s distinctive products are inspired by experience and innovation. We define the realm of file-based broadcast technology, combining beauty, strength, killer speed and efficiency that embrace the future of new media.

Strong record of innovation

Masstech was one of the early innovators of file-based workflow solutions that supported many companies in their transition from manual to automated processes. Tapping on a wealth of experience and technical expertise accumulated over the years, we created a set of bold and powerful tools for the high-speed transcoding, logging, ingestion, annotation, cataloguing, storage, retrieval and distribution of media assets.

Designed on the bedrock of an open scalable architecture, Masstech’s MAM solutions eliminate interoperability issues that our customers face with many other vendors’ products. Masstech’s sleek proprietary technology bridges the entire workflow process from production, transmission to archiving. As a result of this foresight, we’ve had a number of ‘industry firsts’. Masstech’s suite of products integrates seamlessly into broadcasting and non-linear editing systems, without third party middleware. Our archiving systems are the only solution on the market that support MOS protocol by fully integrating NRCS and editing tools with MAM and workflow automation. Masstech products possess the fastest transcoding speeds in the industry, breaking real time HD transcoding by a factor of three, with quality that was approved by CTV, Canada’s official broadcaster of the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Creating value for customers

Media and entertainment companies such as ABC News, Disney Cable Networks, Entertainment Tonight, ESPN, FOXTEL, HBO, Hearst Broadcast Stations, Scripps Network, Showtime, Sinclair Broadcast Stations, Star TV, and other organizations that create and distribute rich content, leverage on Masstech’s cutting edge technology to streamline and optimize workflow processes.

We are committed to providing our customers with cost-effective, state-of-the-art solutions and world-class support. When companies choose Masstech, they only have to deal with one single vendor because we offer software solutions, training and expertise all under one roof.

Masstech differentiates itself from its competitors by designing and owning the complete solution. Our products do not rely on third party middleware to make the complex connections between functional areas, lowering the Total Cost of Ownership. Organizations save on third party costs and multiple user licensing fees. AVID and Final Cut Pro interfaces are free standard features, so companies do not need to buy middleware. Another value-added feature is the unlimited usage of virtual editing – multiple virtual editors can use the ingest tools at no extra cost. Masstech’s solutions do not come with hidden costs, all these features are included upfront when customers invest in our solutions.
